Other Washer Saving TipsHere are some additional tips that can help you save money when using your washing machine:
Try store brand and cheaper brand name washing detergent and see how they work in your washing machine. Many of the low cost washing detergents are high quality and will wash your clothes just as well as the pricier brands.
Before recycling the plastic bottles if you use liquid washing detergent, take out the plastic pour caps. many of these are made in such a way that you can get enough of the liquid detergent out for an extra couple of uses when the pouring cap is removed.
Using a "cold wash - cold rinse" cycle will make your clothes last longer. Hot water tends to shrink, fade and wear your clothes out quicker than warm or cold water.
